An English Pinot Noir made by the Kent winery Simpsons. Priced at £13, this is a wine for English wine fans and experimentalists and not those seeking value for money – because there isn’t any in this bottle. The flavours are simple sharp cherry and liquorice – not the best example of an English Pinot Noir or any Pinot Noir. The taste reminds me of older style South African reds before they sorted out the strange burnt rubber flavours. A disappointing wine.
