A red Burgundy label means this is a wine made with the Gamay grape variety. So the usual Burgundy flavours of cherry with some heartier notes of raisin and a coffee finish. Nice enough but it would have been even nicer if the 13% alcohol could have been a tad lower so that flavours could have been lightened somewhat. Usual price for this type of wine – so no real bargains here.
