Majestic’s own-label range has whacky labels and a great price at £6.99 but this hasn’t stopped them being hard to find. What a shame as these everyday examples of regions and grape varieties are a great introduction to wines in a non-stuffy way. This Italian red Montepulciano d’Abruzzo tastes of spicy plum and Marmite. A great match to any meaty Italian dishes.
