So do they stand up to be the star of the show? In this case yes. This Portuguese Castelao makes a fragrant and fruity red with flavours of damson and cherry liqueur chocolates with a cinnamon spice edge. There’s also a rich raisin ending – but for all that the wine still tastes light and refreshing. A nice wine to try.
