I should have known better than to be attracted by the bargain basement price of this made-up-name wine at Sainsbury’s. There are also a couple of reds in the range at 50p more, but I won’t be trying those. The Chenin Blanc may have started out as Chenin Blanc in the winery but by the time it got in the bottle it was feeble watery stuff that tasted of cardboard and a nasty sharpness. No hint of the usual lime flavours one usually gets in a Chenin Blanc. It was so bad I even added my voice to the online reviews on the Sainsbury’s grocery website and also got a refund.
