Monopole Heidsieck Blue Top Brut champagne review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

The current price of £20 is bargain basement for champagne and, like many champagne manufacturers, Heidsieck has a range of champagnes to sell at various price points - the Blue Top is its entry level version. So don't expect amazing flavours but do expect consistent levels of fizziness and a champagne that looks the part. You get this with the Blue Top - a golden colour with a good level of fizz and the usual champagne aromas of white crusty bread and lemon sorbet. The taste is a little sharp with more lime and apple than the more expensive flavours of honey and almond. It's okay but if you want more exciting fizzy flavours than opt for a Spanish cava which often sells at half the price.
