It’s worth having a taste of this red wine made with the Austrian grape variety Zweigelt (which started out as cross that included Pinot Noir) at least once to say you’ve done it. And the flavours are quite pleasant – juicy plum and coffee with some floral violets going on and a background sweetness of toffee – but it just doesn’t all quite hang together and the overall impression is a wine made as a homebrew from hedgerow fruits. Which is nice enough but can we move on to one with all the balanced flavours please.
