This Spanish blend of white Tempranillo grape variety (a mutation of the standard red Tempranillo that was only noticed in the 1980s) plus the common grape variety Viura makes for a simple quaffable white wine. The flavours of tinned pear and vanilla ice cream bring back memories of eating square chunks of pear from tinned fruit salad along with a block of ice cream. Nostalgia aside, it tastes rather like Pinot Grigio so would make a good alternative.
