Penfolds Max’s Chardonnay 2023 review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

asda

A juicy and fruity tasting Australian Chardonnay. Named after Max Schubert, Penfolds first Chief Winemaker from 1948 to 1975 and responsible for creating their Grange range of wines which were inspired by a trip to Bordeaux. The Max’s range are designed to be either opened now or kept (cellared) for several years to result in a wine with fewer sharp, fruity flavours but one that is more rounded. But as few of us keep our wines more than a few hours, what the wine tastes like now is more relevant: lemon, lime, pear, pineapple and sherbet. Expensive but some offers.
