The starting point for this drink was some South African wine that then had the alcohol removed – and with it almost all the flavours and enjoyment. The end result has almost no fizz and no flavour – except one of cheap apple juice and a nasty drying taste. There is a pleasant aroma of mandarin oranges, so the potential was there. But we don’t buy bottles of almost wine for the aroma alone. Leave it on the shelf.
