Marques de Valido Gran Reserva 2016 Rioja review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

co op

A top-rated vintage Rioja from the Co-op. Bags of flavour that just gets better and better the longer you leave open the bottle. It starts with a light taste of blackberry and cocoa and then moves into damsons, chocolate and Schezuan pepper. Because this a Gran Reserva, the wine is 10 years-old and so the flavours will be lighter than a wine made last year. So expect subtlety initially then some smooth fruitiness. A great wine at a great price.
