Contevedo Cava Rosado Brut review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

aldi

The Spanish sparkling wine Cava has a long history and is just as important as Champagne in the world of fizz. Unfortunately this pink version from Aldi is not adding to that tradition. It is pretty awful and tastes of virtually nothing. There are hints of lemon and lime with possibly some redcurrant, but the flavour is hollow and there is nothing to get your tastebuds around. The Cava industry has been trying to pull its socks up recently and promoting higher quality versions of their wines – this one isn’t doing them any favours. Don’t waste your money.
