Made from Georgian grape variety Rkatsiteli this wine promises well but fails to deliver. On first opening the wine’s aroma and taste is lightly fruity with melon, apple and lemon with a slight bread dough aspect. But this very quickly oxidises into flavours of cut apple that’s gone brown. If I wanted to make a Georgian style of sherry then this last behaviour would make it a good choice. But the style of wine delivered is rather a poorer style of Pinot Grigio. So why not try Terre di Vita Organic Pinot Grigio from Waitrose at £10 instead.
