Brancott Estate Flight Sauvignon Blanc 2024 9% alcohol review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

ocado

A big brand trying a wine with lower than usual alcohol – so 9% rather than the usual 13% alcohol by volume. Available in all of the supermarkets – I found a difference of £1.50 between the lowest price (£7.75 Ocado) and the highest (£9.25 Morrisons) – so if you want it then it pays to shop around. But why you’d want it is anyone’s guess as it tastes a bit strange. Initially you think wow this is going to be great, the aromas are in your face typical Sauvignon Blanc lime and gooseberry and the tastes is okay if a little watery, but you might be able to accept that at a lower alcohol. But then, nothing, the flavour just stops. It’s like somebody wipes you taste buds clean after a couple of seconds. So the wine gets very boring after just a small glass, which isn’t the point at 9% alcohol. You might as well drink the full fat version and just have one glass full of real lime and passion fruit flavours. Save your money and buy something else.
