Casa Felina Merlot Feteasca Neagra 2023 review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

co op

A tasty red from the country of Moldova – that country in eastern Europe sandwiched between Ukraine and Romania. You may have had Romanian wine, even Bulgarian, but Moldovan? Not me, that’s why it caught my eye on the Co-op new wine listings. It’s a Merlot mixed with Feteasca Neagra (translates as Black Maiden grapes) which results in flavours of plum, damson and blackberry with a smoothness of toffee. A rich fruity red that has a spicy warmth to its finish, so making it a great Christmas choice. And a great price too.
