Mark West Pinot Noir 2023 review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

asda

The latest 2023 vintage of Gallo’s Mark West Pinot Noir isn’t a patch on the previous year. Just 2* this time – it’s over-priced and over sweet. With prices ranging from under £10 (Asda) to over £12 (Sainsbury’s) this is a hard wine to pin down on the best buy as price will change with loyalty cards or whether you use a supermarket’s ‘buy 6 bottles of wine and save 25%’ deals. But there is no getting over the fact that there is an overriding taste of toffee in this wine that swamps the cherry flavour. Avoid. Where’s the Burgundy?
