Waitrose Blueprint Reserve Claret 2023 review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

waitrose

Look out for Waitrose’s Blueprint wine range, and in particular their Reserve Claret. This is the usual blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties from the Bordeaux region of France, which we British insist on still calling ‘Claret’. But the price is a bargain – just £4 for half a bottle, and £7.25 for the usual 75cl size. And the flavour is top notch too – dark berries with dark chocolate and some plum and almond. Great price for a very good wine. Might be worth getting a few bottles in and experimenting with keeping these flat somewhere cool for a few years (aging) to see if the taste improves.
