Falanghina is an old Italian grape variety that names itself after the 'falanga' wooden supports used to train the grape vines up into the trees - an old grape farming technique that used the trees already growing as the grape support system rather than installing expensive posts and wires. The wine's light golden colour reveals fruity aromas of pear, apple and peaches with some added floral notes and citrus pith astringency. Richly flavoured, lemon and celery and celery cuts through this but it's still a wine that can stand up to roast chicken with all the trimmings.
