Learn how to find the aromas and flavours in the famous Italian sparkling wine and make tasty Prosecco cocktails with strange names with Paula from WineUncorked.

About this event

Learn how to find the aromas and flavours in the famous Italian sparkling wine Prosecco by using the professional wine tasting technique - we'll all have a go at tasting and describing our wines. Also discover how Prosecco is made and why it's not Champagne, plus where does rosé Prosecco fit in? We’ll also make some tasty Prosecco cocktails with strange names. Which cocktail will win?

Wines aren't included. What wines to get:

·        One bottle of Prosecco – labelled Prosecco or Rosé Prosecco

plus one or more of the following:

·        a glass of orange juice

·        a small amount of fruit cordial/squash e.g. elderflower or blackcurrant

·        a small amount of sloe gin or fruit liqueur (have you got some lurking in the cupboard?)

·        a can of Guinness (beer) or a bottle of stout (beer)

Open to all, this online wine tasting allows anyone with an interest in wine to taste and learn in a practical, fun and informal way with Paula from WineUncorked. You don’t need to have been on a wine tasting or wine course before or have any knowledge of wine.

The event is for adults, aged over 18, who have an interest in wine. We're based in the UK but if you live in another country and want to attend these online events that's fine – just remember our starting time is UK time.

The event is online using Google Meet video. A link will be emailed to you before the start. You don't need to download any software or apps as you can take part through your browser.

What Prosecco should I get?

If you’re not sure what Prosecco to get in for the tasting then have a look at the wine reviews section and search for Prosecco – there’s even some rosé ones too that are available at all supermarkets.
