November 2022 WineUncorked Newsletter
Why do supermarkets have to make their wine offers so complicated? It used to just be 25% off when you buy 6 or more coming and going every few months (Asda and Sainsbury’s current 25% off ends in the next few days) but rounding-up the latest offers for wineuncorked.co.uk has found a head-spinning array of £s off, Buy 2 and save 50p/£1. At least the Co-op and Morrisons is keeping it in the family and insisting you must buy their own-label stuff to claim the discount.
But don’t worry. If you miss these offers they’ll be more next month in the run-up to Christmas with loads of sparkling wine offers which will get even more of a discount in the New Year Sales.
But it’s not the supermarket own-label wines that are topping the viewing charts in the WineUncorked Reviews. The new wines from Moldova in at the Co-op (Tilting Tree Sauvignon Blanc £6 and Tilting Tree Merlot £6, plus big-name Calvet’s French Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc at £6, along with a Spanish Monastrell from Asda for £7 and a 2.25-litre Chilean Sauvignon Blanc winebox from Sainsbury’s for sixteen quid are all proving popular. Why? I’m scratching my head as they appear to have nothing in common – other than being wine of course. But then why is the most popular article How do you pronounce Riesling? rather than The £2.99 wine is not dead yet in these cash-strapped times.
But while you figure that out I’ll carry on adding more wine reviews and insights for your delight. So keep coming back to wineuncorked.co.uk!
