A Beaujolais by any other name, this Fleurie is named after the small town within the region. Fleurie also means flowery in French - hence the pretty bottle label with images of roses. Which isn't a reason enough to buy this wine so let's concentrate on what's in the bottle. Sweet cherry aromas greet you with added pencil shavings and a hint of Bovril, while the flavour is less complex with more cherry but also milk chocolate and liquorice. A nice wine but at a price of over £9 I'd expect a bit more.
