The Wine Society's Rioja Crianza 2017 review - WineUncorked: Wine Reviews and Tips

winesociety

Even without the addition of Grenache grapes, this 100% Tempranillo Rioja still has all the hallmarks of this Spanish red wine - fruity, perfumed with a sharp edge. This deeply coloured wine starts with aromas of lavender and violets and moves into fruity damsons and cherries. There's even some shoe polish and leather smells. The flavour is all this plus creamy milk chocolate with a sharp edge. What a complex wine.
